Once a quiet farming area, Pleasant Hill has become a favorite commuter city due to its relative affordability and proximity to other Bay Area locations. Access to 1-680 is easy, and the Pleasant Hill BART station connects Pleasant Hill to the rest of the East Bay and San Francisco.

A mild Mediterranean climate promises warm, sunny summer days and mild winters. Nearby parks and open spaces offer recreational fun, and a network of trails gives joggers, hikers, skaters, and bikers miles of scenic paths.

Downtown Pleasant Hill is a hub of activity. Redevelopment of the area was completed in 2000 and provided a small city “Main Street” environment with a nice mix of shops, restaurants, and large retailers. In the summertime, residents enjoy a busy Farmers Market, Food Trucks, and the free outdoor Summer Concert Series. Another popular event is the annual Pleasant Hill Art, Jazz, & Wine Festival.
